Encounter with PEST

I feel like I’m less of a man with religion as I grew older. Born to a typical Buddhist family, my religion is dead set on all the traditions. Praying to gods and deities… (Lots of them).
I can still remember when I was young, if I get sick, I don’t go to the clinic or hospitals. I go to the temple. The monk will do some chanting and write a talisman, and give it to my mom. Try guessing what we do with the talisman.

Nope, I don’t paste it on my body or my room.
We FREAKING burn the talisman and mix the burnt ashes with water. Voila~* the holy water is done. I have to drink it. (Of coz I’m not the only one here who had faced this situation before). And no I didn’t get diarrhea (thank god *giggle*)

What I learned (now that im older :P) is that religion and its act, from chants to talismanic stuff, these (religion) people are indeed doctors ( well in a way).
They are the doctor treating patients via medication thru placebo effect. Yeah you hear me right…. I shall call them PEST (Placebo Effect Super Treatment) doctors…..

This help me realize one thing (a theory of mine of course) is that this is how the first god/ saviour of the world existed.
millions of years ago when humanity is still at the first cycle of life, where there are no medical knowledge, the first human that found a cure to illness (i dont want to know how :v) he is the saviour of the pack, and elevated to the status of the god who save humanity (among them :v)
while words spread from cave to cave, across the mountains and the sea, braving storms and hails ( what the heck am i talking ) people will come and seek the god for the cure, and if it works, the words spread even further and rather than they say they found medicine, they found God.
this is what i think on how God is actually made, and the religion? its just plain words the believers spread among the people.

Now this question keep playing in my mind....is God real or is there only false God?
food for thoughts....
